Our Responsibility 2025

Axelent’s contribution to the UN global sustainability goals

At Axelent AB, sustainability is a natural and essential part of everything we do. Through innovation, responsibility, and a long-term perspective, we are committed to creating a safer and more sustainable future - in alignment with the United Nations’ Global Goals for sustainable development.

Renewable energy

To reduce our climate impact, we are investing in renewable energy sources:

  • We have installed 3,000 solar panels generating 1.2 MW of energy, providing electricity for our new energy-efficient powder coating line.
  • In 2024, 53% of our total energy consumption came from our own solar and wind power facilities.
  • Our buildings are heated and cooled using geothermal energy, and we actively carry out energy audits and work to optimize resource efficiency.

Industry, innovation and infrastructure

Innovation and quality are at the heart of our operations:

  • Our safety systems are modular and 99% recyclable.
  • We have conducted life cycle assessments and developed Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for our main products, including machine guard panels and storage panels.
  • We continuously invest in automation and digitalization to streamline production and reduce our climate footprint.

Climate action

We take responsibility for reducing our emissions:

  • Our total emissions (Scope 1, 2, and 3) decreased from 31,449,779 kg CO₂e in 2023 to 29,793,686 kg CO₂e in 2024.
  • We are developing climate declarations for our products and setting stricter requirements for more sustainable transport and fuels.

Responsible consumption and production

We are committed to driving a more circular approach to production:

  • In 2024, we reduced production scrap by nearly 15 tonnes.
  • We actively work to minimize unsorted waste and optimize material usage in our manufacturing processes.
  • Our mesh panels are fully recyclable, and we collaborate with leading players in the recycling industry.

Partnerships for the goals

Together, we create greater impact:

  • We collaborate with schools and universities, including partnerships with initiatives like the JU Solar Team, which develops solar-powered cars for a sustainable future.
  • We actively participate in networks for knowledge exchange within sustainable development.
