Marjana Gavric works as a product coordinator at Axelent AB. This is a new position at Axelent, but Marjana has extensive experience of the role.

What did you do before joining Axelent three months ago?

At university, I studied production management with a focus on technical sales. My education made it a natural step to enter the manufacturing industry, which is a major employer in the area where I live. For the past five years, I’ve been working as a Nordic logistics specialist for a well-known international company. My role entailed finding solutions to support the sales organisation, such as planning seasonal campaigns in terms of everything from registering items in the ERP system to planning production and delivery to customers.

What does your role at Axelent involve?

I work as a product coordinator in the product department. Since the organisation is expanding, it’s important to create a workable structure to enable process growth. There’s increasingly greater demand for custom solutions, and so it’s important to be able to handle them in an effective and professional manner. In order to achieve this, I’ll be responsible for various projects in the product department and for documenting processes and procedures. I’ll have overall responsibility for item preparation, as well as for maintaining and updating items in the ERP system. I’ll also support my colleagues from the product group in producing material for new product launches or product phaseouts, as well as compile statistics for evaluating our product range.

What main qualities do you bring to the role of product coordinator?

My previous experience greatly benefits me in my new role at Axelent, which is to devise and establish the entire process in the ERP system – from the initial need for a product through to customer delivery. My main qualities are that I’m structured, I think visually and I’m used to working on a project basis. Beyond that, I’m not afraid to knock on other people’s doors for help.

What does a normal working day entail for you?

A normal day could involve, say, registering special items for customer-specific projects together with all the associated information, such as operations, instructions and prices. On a weekly basis, I retrieve stock level statistics from the database for our external warehouse and then place an order with the production unit. I also regularly compile and prepare information for product managers on products to be phased out or launched. I also upload images to the system, update prices and correct product names. On top of all this, I work on longer-term projects, such as regrouping our item types based on new products.

Why would you recommend Axelent?

I’d recommend Axelent not only because we’re fast and service-minded, but also because we offer world-class products while focusing on listening to customers and following market trends. Since we have short decision making processes, we can act quickly and creatively. We offer complete solutions for different industries and we’re not locked into our product range.
