X-Rail Fall Protection
The Key Features of X-Rail
- Fall Protection System: X-Rail is primarily aimed at preventing falls from elevated workspaces, making it required for any area where employees work over a meter above the ground, especially in environments with hazardous equipment below. Our X-Rail system is fully compliant to all relevant standards, but make sure you understand where edge protection is necessary by law.
- Flexible Installation: The system offers two post heights (1,400 mm and 2,300 mm), allowing for flexible installation to suit various heights and preferences.
- Handrails & Kickplates - The system uses handrails and knee rails with keyhole slots for easy addition and adjustment. For added safety, a full mesh panel or solid steel panel can be installed to prevent objects from falling through gaps. Our kickplate is adjustable and is cut to suit your size requirements on site, and can be provided with additional reinforced bar if necessary.
When is Fall Protection Needed?
Fall protection is essential in any workplace where employees are exposed to potential falls from heights. Specifically, edge rail protection is needed when employees are working over a metre above a lower level. This requirement becomes even more important in environments where hazardous equipment or substances are present below, or where there is an increased risk of losing grip. Edge protection should always include a handrail, knee rail, and kick plate to prevent small loose items falling below. A mesh panel or solid steel infill may be used as an additional safety, or loss prevention measure. All edge protection falls under the BS 6180:2011 in the United Kingdom and DIN EN ISO 14122-3: 2016 regulations in the European Union. X-Rail has been fully tested and is compliant to these regulations, and also the equivalent United States and Australian standards.
