In this message, Karin Sandén, CEO of Axelent AB, shares her reflections on our sustainability journey in 2024 and our ambitions for the future.

As the world evolves and new challenges emerge, we at Axelent continue to be driven by our ambition to create a safer and more sustainable future. We know that success is not solely measured in numbers, but in the impact we have on our customers, employees, and society at large.

Throughout 2024, we intensified our focus on responsible growth, innovation, and safety – always keeping the customer at the center of everything we do.
At Axelent, we have defined three key focus areas for our sustainability efforts, based on our vision, strategy, stakeholder expectations, and identified sustainability risks. These focus areas give us crucial perspectives on how we contribute to a safer and more sustainable world.

Reducing Climate and Environmental Impact

We aim to grow sustainably while minimizing our environmental footprint. Across the entire value chain - from procurement and production to the product’s lifecycle and recycling - we actively work to reduce our climate impact. Sustainability is integrated into our product development and operational processes, and we see it as our responsibility to drive positive change in the industries and communities where we operate.
This year, we have taken important steps towards a more sustainable operation. We invested in 3,000 solar panels generating 1.2 MW of renewable energy, providing power to our new, energy-efficient powder coating line.
Our efforts in energy mapping and resource efficiency have also led to a significant reduction in our energy consumption and climate impact. Through innovation and continuous improvement, we continue to shape a more circular and sustainable future.

People at the Center

Through clear values and a strong corporate culture, we strive to be the industry’s most attractive employer, offering a safe, inspiring, and development-focused work environment. Our 350 employees are driven by a desire to grow, make a difference, and find innovative solutions - always with the best interests of our customers in mind.
Engaged and skilled employees are the key to our success. That’s why, during the year, we have continued to invest in leadership, skills development, and workplace well-being. The Axelent Ambassador Academy has become a central part of our culture, providing new employees from around the world with a shared starting point in our One Axelent spirit. At the same time, we have enhanced our work environment with modern office spaces and initiatives that strengthen both collaboration and well-being.

Community Engagement

Axelent has never been a company driven solely by selling as many products as possible. We take pride in our roots and entrepreneurial spirit, where innovation, quality, and safety are always at the core. With production and development based in Småland, Sweden, we take active responsibility for our local environment and sustainability, while also seeing ourselves as part of a larger, global community.
Through initiatives in safety, education, and social engagement - both locally and globally - we strive to make a real difference for people and businesses around the world.
